MY ALBATROSS-LEND A HAND

image

The antidote is made from the venom…Get up and help someone else survive what you endured, you gain strength by helping others. (Bishop TD Jakes in The Lady, Her Lover and Her Lord)

Does anybody feel my pain?
Does somebody share my shame?
Can I hope for the rain?
Or is it going to remain the same?

Can’t someone hear my cry,
Sounding so sheepish, so shrill?
Aren’t my tears worth your try,
Can’t you see I’m sick of being ill?

All I asked for was a helping hand;
Did I ask for too much?
I just needed you to understand,
Just your empathic touch!

I am lost at my wit’s end,
As regards my constant albatross;
If only you would lend
A hand to carry my cross.

But you must surely know
That you do it at no loss;
For you must reap what you sow,
So you need make no fuss.

Alas, I found no succor,
Great was them that suffered same;
Then I’d  become an anchor,
For many that were lame.

I PRAY FOR THE COURAGE TO ENDURE WHAT YOU CANNOT CHANGE #TDJ

  1. ‘You must surely know…for you must reap what you sow’- That is deep!
    Beautiful lines that can change the way we think and help us make the right decision to lend a helping hand.
